Oasis To Be Honoured At The Silver Clef Awards

Oasis are to be honoured with a lifetime achievement award at this year’s Silver Clef’s, organisers have announced.


Previous winners of the award include U2 and Paul Weller, while Bryan Ferry and Andrea Bocelli were amongst those honoured at last years event.


The winners in the seven other Silver Clef categories will be announced at a ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton in July.


The annual awards raise money for Nordoff-Robins, a charity which provides music therapy for adults and children.


It is Oasis’ second prestigious gong of the year, they were presented with the outstanding contribution to music award at the Brits.

Mika is eager to win a Brit Award

Pop singer Mika has said that he would love to win a Brit Award at tonight's ceremony.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "Quite frankly I'd love to win one. I'd like to get British Male but the competition is fierce."
The singer, who faces competition from Take That in the categories of Best Album and Best Single, said: "Take That are a British institution now."
Mika also said that he would love to see his friends in Muse picking up an award.
"I really hope that they win because they really deserve it," he said.

George brings 'Freedom' to American Idol finale

Washington (ANI): George Michael is reportedly set to perform at the 'American Idol' finale. Earlier this week, Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe hinted that the 'biggest star in the world' was coming to the show, but refused to reveal who the artist would be, reports E! Online. The 'Freedom' hit-maker's appearance would coincide with his 20-city tour which starts June 17 in San Diego; and his recently released two-disc CD, Twenty-Five. Reps for the show would not confirm Michael's appearance, while a rep for the former Wham! frontman could not be immediately reached.
